Abstract
This research considered the relative impact of level of economic deve lopment versus Anglo heritage on four cultural values measured by the Value Survey Module. Results suggest a strong relationship between eco nomic development and individualism. This supports earlier findings, f or example, those of Hofstede, that countries that are low on economic development, measured by per capita GDP, are also low on individualis m. The implications for organizational researchers and practicing mana gers are discussed.
