Recent observations of Hyades stars indicate an enhanced oxygen-to-iro
n ratio in comparison to the Sun. We show that the impact of such an o
xygen enhancement on the predictions of pre-main-sequence lithium burn
ing, via interior opacities, is quite substantial. For the first time,
self-consistent predictions of the G and K dwarf (Li, T(eff)) relatio
nship for the Hyades match the observations. Other elements which coul
d be of importance in this regard, for any cluster, are also identifie
d.
