R. Pacini et al., NOTES ON THE FOOD MICROBIAL-CONTAMINATION IN THE LIVORNO AREA - DETECTION OF YERSINIA-ENTEROCOLITICA, Industrie alimentari, 32(321), 1993, pp. 1216-1219
The AA. report data about a research carried out in the province of Li
vorno (Italy) regarding the presence of Yersinia in different kinds of
foodstuff. 488 samples have been esamined and 13 strains belonging to
the genus Yersinia have been recorded. Meat samples appeared to be th
e most contamined ones. The results carried out by this research sugge
st the importance of a prevailing control on ready to use and fresh pr
oducts. In addition the research shows that the ''microbiological indi
cators'' don't fit for revealing the psicrophylic pathogens like Yersi
nia.
