ISOLATION OF BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHEA VIRUS FROM CHAROLAIS CALVES SHOWING HEMORRAGIC SYNDROMES

An hemorragic syndrome was reported in the U.S.A. and Canada in cattle infected by non cytopathic strains of the Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV/MD). It was also recently reported in several herds located in the south of Belgium. Here we describe two cases of a similar syndrome identified in France; the BVD virus was isolated from blood and organ s and its biotype was also non-cytopathic.
