Abstract
The optimal control of linear systems with quadratic cost functional i s considered. The method is based on shifted Legendre approximation of each state variable that converts the linear quadratic problem to a s ystem of linear algebraic equations. An illustrative example is includ ed to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique.
