Abstract
We report a male patient who presented with severe fasting hypoglycemi a in which extensive pituitary and adrenal investigations were diagnos tic of isolated ACTH deficiency of pituitary origin. The finding of au toimmune subclinical primary hypothyroidism strongly suggested an auto immune etiology of the pituitary disease. Lymphocytic hypophysitis, al though very rare in male patients, has to be kept in mind when studyin g patients with pituitary failure of unknown origin, especially when o ther autoimmune endocrinopathy is present.
