Abstract
A [2]rotaxane has been synthesized having an anthracenyl ''stopper'' a t each end of a flexible polyether thread'' which folds to facilitate pi-stacking between the centralized cyclophane and the anthracene moie ties, forming a five-membered pi-stack.
