Abstract
Macrocyclic enaminolactones 5 are prepared in three steps from commerc ialy available chloroalcohols 1. The cyclization step is performed by intramolecular nucleophilic addition of the hydroxy group to an aminom ethyleneketene generated by thermolysis.
