Abstract
In the present study, controlled release pellets of the anorexigenic, diethylpropion hydrochloride were formulated. Selected polymeric film coatings were applied to the drug-loaded non pareils and their effect on in vitro drug release from the multiple-units dosage form was exami ned. It was found that a combination of Eudragit(R) RS, polyethylene g lycol 200 and magnesium stearate produced a stable film coat that cont rolled drug release as desired. Dissolution data demonstrated that thi s formulation displayed predictable and reproducible drug release char acteristics.
