Serious diagnostic and therapeutic dilemmas may arise when preeclampsi
a complicates pregnancy in a myasthenic patient. Four cases of such an
association were previously reponed in the English-language medical l
iterature and the fifth one-is reported here. Based on the literature
review and our own case, the problems that may arise when myasthenia g
ravis is complicated by severe preeclampsia during pregnancy are discu
ssed and guidelines for diagnosis and management are suggested.
