Abstract
Lithium-graphite and sodium-graphite systems were investigated by DTA method under thermobaric conditions. The highly saturated GICs of lith ium and sodium were studied by X-ray analysis. Lithium h.s.GIC is ther modynamically unstable at the ambient pressure and decomposes without changing of the interplanar distance. Whereas, sodium h.s.GICs have a two-layer structure after the pressure decrease.
