Polycrystalline BaFe12O19 has been synthesized by pyrolysis of an aero
sol produced by ultrahigh frequency spraying of a solution. Two precur
sor solutions have been used in order to study its influence on the fo
rmation temperature of the barium hexaferrite and on the microstructur
al and magnetic properties. The relationship between in situ temperatu
re, pyrolysis precursor, and textural and magnetic properties of the p
roducts obtained is discussed.
