M. Perault et al., INFRARED SPACE-OBSERVATORY CAMERA CALIBRATION FACILITY AND PREFLIGHT CHARACTERIZATION, Optical engineering, 33(3), 1994, pp. 762-770
The camera of the Infrared Space Observatory (ISOCAM) was carefully te
sted and calibrated from 1991 to 1992 in the dedicated facility instal
led at Institut d'Astrophysique Spatiale at Orsay, France. A large cry
ostat with high-precision instrumentation was developed to provide an
operation environment close to the conditions expected in orbit. The l
arge amount of data obtained allows a thorough investigation of the im
aging, photometric, and spectral properties of ISOCAM in all its opera
tion modes, leading to the definition of hopefully optimal observing p
rocedures and data-processing algorithms.
