J. Summerscales, NONDESTRUCTIVE MEASUREMENT OF THE MOISTURE-CONTENT IN FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTICS, British Journal of Non-Destructive Testing, 36(2), 1994, pp. 64-72
The polymers which are used as the matrix in fibre reinforced plastics
composites can absorb several percent of water by weight and this can
have an adverse effect on the structural integrity of the composite.
It is therefore important that the moisture content of such materials
can be measured, preferably by non-destructive means. This paper revie
ws the techniques by which sensitive, reliable and quantitative measur
ements may be achieved.
