Abstract
There has been substantial progress in preventing and treating CMV inf ection. Prophylaxis with CMV screened blood products, IVIG and antivir al drugs (high dose acyclovir and/or Gancyclovir) considerably reduce the incidence of CMV disease and nearly eliminate CMV pneumonia after allogeneic BMT.
