VUKPS Pecky and VUZV Uhrineves started in 1992 the comparative fatteni
ng experiments at world beef breed of bulls and pigs fed with special
mixture GRADO. This mixture contains, as a dominant component, the dri
ed beet pulps. In line with principal intentions of research were foll
owed the basic indices of utility (average daily grain), carcass value
of tested animals, nutritive qualities of muscle tissue and other bio
logical, chemical, hygienic and sensoric qualities of meat products. F
rom the results of fettening tests was carried out the economic assess
ment. In comparison with control feeding regime of bulls, the trials v
ariant showed lower gains, but at the same time also lower costs on fa
ttening and meat production in amount of 0,46 Kc/kg. This makes cca 25
0,- Kc at average slaughtering weight of a bull. Also the quality of p
roducts was considerably higher. The research of the task goes on in 1
