The reflection of magnetoacoustic waves in an antiferromagnet with 'ea
sy plane'' anisotropy in the vicinity of the spin-flip phase transitio
n with respect to a magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that t
he angle of reflection and mode conversion efficiencies can be effecti
vely field-controlled. The magnetoacoustic Schoch effect. which descri
bes the spatial displacement of the reflected beam relative to the geo
metrically reflected beam and which grows stronger as the spin-flip po
int is approached, is investigated for finite beams of transverse magn
etoacoustic waves.
