Abstract
Three new indole derivatives having anti-photo-oxidative activity were
isolated from the seaweed, Martensia denticulata. The gross structure
s of these new compounds were identified as )-3-phenylpropionyl]trypto
phyl]oxymethyl]phenyl]su lfate, -methylhexanol]tryptophyl]oxymethyl]ph
enyl]sulfate , and -4-methylhexanoyl]trypthphyl]oxymethyl]phenyl]sulf
ate, which are named Denticin A, B, and C, respectively.
