A 40-year-old woman underwent operative hysteroscopy for suspected sub
mucosal myoma, during which the uterine fundus was perforated. At lapa
rotomy the perforation site was sutured. In a subsequent pregnancy she
had a sudden onset of abdominal pain. Laparotomy revealed a uterine r
upture with a partially protruding placenta. A healthy newborn was del
ivered by a low-segment cesarean section.
