Ny. Yanysheva et al., TEMPORAL REGULARITIES OF DISTRIBUTION OF BENZ(A)PYRENE CONCENTRATIONSIN THE ATMOSPHERIC AIR, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 15(6), 1993, pp. 19-24
The regularities of temporal distribution of benz(a) pyrene (BP) conce
ntrations in the ambient air in a number of cities in Ukraine and Hung
ary were studied. Some assets of BP dynamics over annual and 24-hour-c
ycles in the cities with different levels of atmospheric carcinogenic
pollutions came available. The links between the average month BP conc
entrations and some meteorological factors were demonstrated. Quantita
tive relationships between BP atmospheric concentration at various tim
e-averaged periods are treated and described mathematically. For 24-ho
ur cycle they are as follows: C3hr : C6hr : C12hr : C24hr=2.6 : 1.8 :
1.3 : 1.0; and for annual one: C24hr : C(mth): C(yr)=5.0-8.0 : 2.0-2.5
: 1.O. The ratios shown should be perceived through analysing the dat
a on BP atmospheric monitoring and utilized to substantiate the carcin
ogen maximum permissible concentrations temporally differentiated (the
ir average values within 24 hours, a month, and a year respectively).
