Abnormalities of some genetic loci were studied in ovarian carcinomas
(OC). Amplification of ERBB-2 oncogene was detected in 1 of 36 cases;
ERBB-1 - in 1 of 26; C-MYC - in none of 26. Loss of heterozygosity (LO
H) of HRAS-1 oncogene (chromosome 11p) was observed in 5 of 17 informa
tive cases. Distribution of HRAS-1 alleles in OC patients was not dras
tically differ from healthy donors. Southern-blot analysis revealed no
abnormalities of RB-1 (25 cases) and p53 (36 cases) antioncogenes. LO
H at chromosome 17p (probe YNZ-22) was found in 7 of 13 heterozygous O
C; 17q (probe THH-59) -in 9 of 21. Further investigations are necessar
y to clarify the molecular pathogenesis of ovarian malignancies.
