PROLACTINOMAS IN MEN MASQUERADING AS INVASIVE SKULL BASE TUMORS

Four giant prolactin-secreting tumours invading the skull base are des cribed. All of them occurred in men. The presenting features were suff iciently diverse to be clinically misleading. We advocate the estimati on of prolactin levels before embarking on complicated skull base surg ery in men where doubt remains regarding the diagnosis after clinical and radiological study.
