We report a case of cutaneous disease occurring in a woman and charact
erized by (a) discrete, bilateral and asymptomatic papular eruption on
the dorsa of the hands and forearms, (b) histologic evidence of derma
l deposition of mucin in the lesions, (c) absence of any systemic abno
rmality, and (d) persistence of the lesions in the time (the follow-up
period is presently of four years). This case is identical to other c
ases previously reported under the designation of ''acral persistent p
apular mucinosis'' (APPM).
