A. Zenger et al., INVESTIGATION OF ATMOSPHERIC TRANSPORT AN D MIXING PHENOMENA BY TRACER GAS DISPERSION EXPERIMENTS WITHIN ENVIRONMENTAL-IMPACT ASSESSMENT, Staub, Reihhaltung der Luft, 54(2), 1994, pp. 51-54
Tracer gas experiments are a powerful tool for predicting immissions i
f the meteorological conditions are difficult to model. The tracer use
d must be untoxic, environmentally unobjectionable and chemically iner
t. In addition a low background concentration is required. The present
study shows that sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) is a suitable gas for suc
h field experiments. The investigation method is presented and an exam
ple is given.
