Abstract
To determine the nature of the genetic component controlling susceptib ility to leprosy the traditional segregational analysis (Emery, 1976) was performed on 22 families from T. K Gram area of Santal Parganas, B ihar, India. The area was highly endemic and the patients were of nonl epromatous type. The results may be consistent with the presence of an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance. The study further adds to th e genetic susceptibility to nonlepromatous leprosy in the Santals.
