This paper discusses questions of building cryooptical systems and opt
oelectronic devices based on them, intended for scientific investigati
ons in space. The achievable level of the basic parameters of a cryoob
jective with a light-protection system, photodetector, and on-board cr
yogenic system for orbital deployment is considered briefly, with tech
nological restrictions taken into account. The parameters obtained as
a result of a preliminary fine tuning and the design of an IR telescop
e with an entrance-pupil diameter of 150 mm that can be cooled to a lo
w temperature are described.
