Abstract
Intraperitoneal injection of salmon calcitonin (0.5 MRC unit/ 100 gm b ody weight, single dose) evokes significant hypocalcemia (P<0.001) and hypophosphatemia (P<0.02) in Bufo andersoni at 2 hours of the adminis tration. Though hypocalcemia (P<0.02) persists even at 4 hours of the treatment, the serum inorganic phosphate value approaches normophospha temia.
