Abstract
Sibling crosses of monokaryotic isolates of eleven species of Marasmiu s, representing four morphologically defined sections of the genus, su pported the hypothesis that mating patterns are consistent between spe cies at the sectional rank. Mating system data and brief discussions o f cultural characteristics are provided for M. alliaceus, M. copelandi i, and M salalis (section Alliacei); M olneii and M quercophilus (sect ion Androsacei); M. capillaris, M. curreyi, and M wettsteinii (section Marasmius); and M ciliatomarginatus, M falcatipes, and M. haematoceph alus (section Sicci).
