Abstract
The title compound has been characterized by means of X-ray crystallog raphy. The cyanato ligand acts as a bridge between the square planar [ Ni(3,2,3-tet)]2+ entities (3,2,3-tet = N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)-1,2-eth anediamine), giving an unprecedented chain structure. Crystal data for [{Ni(3,2,3-tet)(mu-NCO)}n](ClO4)n: FW = 374.47, monoclinic, space gro up P2(1)/n, a = 10.587(2), b = 12.395(2), c = 11.871(2) angstrom, beta = 92.00(1)-degrees, Z = 4, D(c) = 1.597 g cm-3, R = 0.038, R(w) = 0.0 41. The magnetic susceptibility data indicate weak ferromagnetic coupl ing.
