Abstract
We observe current oscillations occurring during low-temperature elect ric breakdown of slightly doped p-type, germanium under the influence of a transverse magnetic field. The dynamics results from a continuous displacement of current filaments, representing highly conducting cha nnels surrounded by a nearly insulating bulk medium. We characterize t he dynamics by two different time scales. Their parameter dependence d emands for an extended model description.
