Abstract
NEC has developed the PA3E6-1A pager that conforms completely with the ERMES (European Radio Message System) specifications for the first ti me in the world. The PA3E6-1A pager is expected to play a pioneering r ole for high bit rate pagers in accelerating the next generation of pa ging services. This paper gives an outline of the ERMES system and the ERMES pager. The paper also discusses the performance of the ERMES pa ger.
