Abstract
An imaging technique based on Raman scattering induced by a KrF excime r laser has been developed for quantitative simultaneous multiple-poin t measurements of absolute multispecies concentrations (O2, N2, H2, an d H2O) and temperature in turbulent flames. These multiparameter measu rements along the laser line have a temporal resolution of 17 ns, a sp atial resolution of 0.7 mm for each point, and single-shot standard de viations of approximately 8%. The UV Raman imaging system has been app lied in turbulent nonpremixed hydrogen-air flames, providing what are to our knowledge the first reported single-pulse, simultaneous multipl e-point quantitative images of multiple species and temperature.
