Relaxation rate of phonons was investigated in antiferromagnet alphaFe
2O3. Phonons were parametrically excited by microwave magnetic field i
n helix resonator at pumping frequencies nu(p)=0.7-1.5 GHz. The relaxa
tion rate of phonons was calculated using the threshold amplitude of t
he microwave field of parallel pumping. The phonon relaxation was foun
d to be weakly dependent on the magnetic field and approximately propo
rtional to nu(p)2.
