We have determined electron energy band dispersion of the vanadium val
ence bands along the H-G-N high symmetry direction of the bulk Brillou
in zone by use of angular-resolved photoemission spectroscopy of the V
(100) surface. The dispersion of the states associated to the electron
transitions from the bands G1 and G3 were found to be in very good ag
reement with existing self-consistent electron band structure calculat
ions for the bulk vanadium. Contrast to expectation, no surface state
on the Fermi level has been proved.
