Abstract
Poly(NAP-2) is a novel conducting polymer film obtained by electrochem ical oxidation of 2-naphthol. The polymer structure consists of polyme rs P and oligomers Q. The P structure comprises alternate naphthylene and furan rings while the Q structure bears quinonoid groups in the ch ain. The electrochemical oxidation-reduction of the two forms P and Q in poly(NAP-2) film was studied. The redox process of the furan groups in the polymer structure P is detected in neutral acetonitrile while that involving Q/H2Q couple in Q structure is observed in acidic aceto nitrile solution.
