Abstract
The chloro ligands in [LRuCl(3)] (1), the crystal structure of which h as been determined, are readily substituted in aqueous solution by NCO -, NCS-, and N-3(-) with formation of LRu(III)X(3) complexes. [LRu(II) (N-3)(3)] is very thermolabile and light sensitive and forms diamagnet ic [LRu(II)(N-3)(2)(N-2)]. The thiocyanate species probably contains N - and S-coordinated NCS-ligands: [LRu(NCS)(2)(SCN)]. The electrochemis try of the new complexes is reported.
