Abstract
Phytochemical analysis of the root bark of Newbouldia laevis revealed the presence of four pyrazole alkaloids. These were characterized usin g various spectroscopic data as withasomnine, and the novel 4'-hydroxy -withasomnine, newbouldine and 4'-hydroxynewbouldine.
