Arnaudiella eucalyptorum is described as a new saprobic Ascomycete fro
m Eucalyptus leaf litter. Its anamorph, which developed in pure cultur
e, is placed in a new hyphomycetous genus, Xenogliocladiopsis. Xenogli
ocladiopsis eucalyptorum sp.nov. is known from collections of Eucalypt
us leaf litter in the Transvaal and Cape provinces of South Africa, wh
ere it appears to be specific to this substrate.
