Abstract
Levitt's method (Levitt, 1984) for detecting reflectional symmetry is extended to detect the more general skewed symmetry, and a method is r eported for detecting rotational symmetry using the Hough transform. P rincipal advantages are insensitivity to occlusion and ability to work with non-symmetrical objects, as well as sets of isolated points.
