Abstract
Medroxyprogesterone acetate (Depo-Provera) is now approved for use as an injectable contraceptive. It is highly effective and has the advant age of only needing to be administered once every 12 weeks. The most c ommon side effects are menstrual irregularities, amenorrhea in particu lar. Several illustrative cases are presented that demonstrate appropr iate patient selection for this agent.
