Heavy metal content in fleshflies and their hosts (earthworms, snails)
was investigated in a contact zone between 3 biogeographical district
s (Hercynian, Carpathian and Pannonian) of Central Moravia during 2 su
bsequent years. AAS method revealed deal of Cd, Pb, Cr, Mn, Zn and Fe
(mg/kg-1 of dry matter). After statistic evaluation, results show that
quantitative proportions between content of individual HM remained un
changed, whereas their mutual relations are differentiated and statist
ically significant in numerous cases. Differences of HM impact in fles
hflies from various habitats were also significant (with the exception
of Pb) correspondingly to state of ecological disintegration of indiv
idual habitats. HM impact was observed also in protected habitats show
ing clear relation to neighbouring landscape. Simultaneous investigati
ons in HM content in fleshflies and their hosts make it possible to es
timate HM content in hosts basing on regression equations checked.
