Abstract
In this study, we map the chromosomal position of the gene that encode s the type II receptor of TGF-beta (HGM symbol TGFBR2), a multifunctio nal regulator of cell proliferation and differentiation. Using a full- length cDNA and a genomic probe in Southern blot analysis of a human x rodent somatic cell hybrid panel and by direct fluorescence in situ h ybridization to normal metaphase chromosomes, we show that the TGFBR2 gene maps to 3p22.
