G. Goodlet et al., THEORETICAL-STUDY OF THE REDOX AND ACID-BASE EQUILIBRIA OF 2,6-DICHLOROINDOPHENOL IMMOBILIZED ON AMBERLITE XAD-4, Analytica chimica acta, 287(3), 1994, pp. 285-291
By using three equations, viz., the Nernst equation, the acid-base dis
sociation constant equation and the equation for the Kubelka-Munk func
tion for reflectance, an equation describing the redox behaviour of th
e immobilised indicator 2,6-dichloroindophenol has been formulated. Af
ter determination of the acid dissociation constant of the reduced for
m of the indicator, theoretical responses were calculated and compared
to the experimental responses. The results indicate that the redox eq
uilibrium involves a one-electron transfer in the pH range 2 to 5.
