J. Kotaskova et al., PERSONALITY-PATTERNS .1. INTERACTION OF M ORAL MATURITY AND LOCUS OF CONTROL IN VARIOUS SOCIAL CONTEXTS, Ceskoslovenska psychologie, 37(5), 1993, pp. 385-397
Three levels of moral maturity (Heteronomy - Autonomy), and 11 scales
of CAMI (Control, Agency, and Means-Ends Beliefs Interview) in childre
n 8-15 years, revealed in multiple and cannonical correlations relativ
ely low interdependence (R(c)= .26); it is accord with our past studie
s based on other I - E scales. However, partial aspects of self-attrib
utions defined by CAMI, esp. AGOTH - role of powerful others, and MEAT
T- role of attributes in means-ends beliefs, proved their relevance to
moral maturity. Rather higher instercorrelations of CAMI were obtaine
d with the social status of children (sociograms in classrooms, R(c) =
.35), relatively high also with teachers' ratings (R(c) = .41), and t
he highest one with the school marks (R(c) Each of analyses proved spe
cific patterns of self-attributional aspects to be relevant to various
social contexts : e.g., the combination of high Control but low AGEFF
(effort in agency), low MELUC and MEUNK (Luck and Unknown powers in M
eans-Ends Beliefs) to social status; and/or most scales of Agency Beli
efs to school success. - Highly idiosyncratic patterns of the Self str
uctures contexts with various social experience and moral maturity in
the individual were found; verification of their interpretations is th
e aim of further analyses.
