Vm. Kuzkin et Vg. Petnikov, FREQUENCY SCALE ESTIMATIONS OF A SOUND FIELD INTERFERENCE STRUCTURE IN A SHALLOW SEA, Acoustical physics, 40(1), 1994, pp. 75-78
The perturbation theory for rays was used to compute the variability o
f frequency periods in the interference structure caused by slow chang
es in wave channel parameters in the horizontal plane. The efficiency
of the proposed technique has been demonstrated with frequency bandwid
th estimations of intensity oscillations in low-depth, bottom oceanic
waveguides. It is shown that the phase methods based on the measuremen
t of the frequency variability scales can be used for the detection of
large-scale inhomogeneities in a shallow sea.
