Abstract
The Triad Training Model is designed to make explicit a client's posit ive and negative internal dialogue through direct and immediate feedba ck in simulated counseling interviews. The counselor trainee is presen ted with an explicit verbal exchange with the client, the counselor's own implicit internal dialogue, and positive/negative messages of the client's internal dialogue through feedback from the anticounselor and procounselor. The theoretical basis for the Triad Training Model is d iscussed and supporting research is presented. The specific functions of a procounselor and anticounselor are outlined for persons seeking t o use the Triad Training Model.
