Abstract
A rapid procedure for dehydrating and clearing siliceous sponges (Hali clona aquaeductus) and calcified corals (Swiftia exserta) with 2,2 dim ethoxypropane and methyl salicylate has been developed. This modificat ion of the Muller and Skinner method offers rapidity, preservation of tissue integrity, reproducibility, and improved staining quality.
