Abstract
The synergistic effect in the combined action of a-amylase and glucoam ylase on soluble and insoluble amylose has been investigated. Qualitat ive aspects of this phenomenon were shown to depend on a number factor s, including the composition of the reaction mixture, reaction duratio n, degree of substrate polymerization, initial substrate concentration , as well as the mechanism of alpha-amylase action. An explanation is given for these effects.
