Abstract
Small amounts of ganglioside lactones, which are not characteristic of homologous normal tissues, were found in human gastric and breast tum ors. The lactone of only one ganglioside (GM(3)) was found in breast t umors; it was also found in gastric tumors. However, GD(3) lactone was also identified in one case of gastric tumor.
