Abstract
A potentiometric ion-selective membrane electrode determining the conc entration resp. the activity of the drug chloramphenicol succinate sod ium (1) in the presence of cyclodextrins (CD) has been developed. Comp lex formation constants of inclusion complexes of 1 with beta- and gam ma-CD has been characterized both using a drug-selective electrode and a polarographic method. Compound 1 turned out to build complexes of h igher stability with beta-CD than with gamma-CD.
